In-House Trainings for Academic Staff at Ilia State University
14-22nd of November 2022, within the Erasmus + DITECH project trainings were conducted for academic staff at Ilia State University.
The aim of the training was to introduce different e-tools that are used in education. Topics related to technology enhanced learning together with the tolls like Camtasia, Canva Infographic, H5P were presented to local academic staff. The sessions were interactive and practical, attendees prepared different materials such as infographics, video instructions, mind maps etc.
The content of the trainings was developed within the Erasmus + DITECH project.
Training Workshop for Faculty Members of Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University
Training Workshop (TW) 1 for Faculty members was held in Batumi Shota Rusatveli State University within the framework of the Erasmus +Grant Project DITECH on October 6 and 7.
The training workshop consisted of two training sessions of 6 hours altogether in face-to-face mode. It was conducted by Elza Jintcharadze and Nino Samnidze.
Miro, Padlet, Canva, Piktochart: Infographics were presented on the first day, and the 2nd session was dedicated to Genially, Mentimeter and Slido.
Training Workshop for Faculty Members of Ivane Javakhishvili - Tbilisi State University
IWithin the EU funded Erasmus+ DITECH project “Developing and Implementing Technology Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs” the training workshop for faculty members on: Educational Technologies and Online Learning Platforms was conducted at TSU on October 5-6, 2022. During training sessions were introduced all tools and platforms presented at TM1 Workshop at Tallinn University:
Camtasia, Snagit, ThingLink, Info-graphic, Canva, MINDOMO, H5P, Miro, Edpuzzle.
Development of Educational Technologies for the Improvement of the Teaching-learning Process For professors and lecturers of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University
On October 3-5, 2022 in the first building of the university, within the framework of the DITECH-Erasmus+ (Developing and Implementing Technology Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs) project, funded by the European Union, a training workshop was held on the topic: Educational Technologies and Platforms of Online Learning.
The training was conducted by the staff trained within the framework of the same project at the Tallinn (Estonia) University of Technology:
Professor Tina Gelashvili (project manager);
Doctors: Mariam Kenchoshvili and Nino Beridze, and Khatuna Kvintskhadze, information technology specialist.
Preparation of the educational project DITECH members for piloting and training
In September 2022, one more online working meeting of the educational project DITECH was held, at which the representatives of the universities participating in the project discussed the following issues:
The issue of piloting the BA and MA syllabi developed in the framework of the project DITECH from the fall semester of 2022;
Presentation of DITECH training modules by the universities;
Preparation for Kaunas study visit and prevention of related financial problems.
Coordination of information about dissemination of project ideas with the dissemination group.

Dr. Izabella Petriashvili, Associate Professor, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, USA Fulbright Scholar 2012, during her visit to St. Augustine College (SAC) in Chicago, IL. US delivered a one-hour online webinar on Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian Higher Education Institutions on August 10, 2022.
The Webinar was organized by SAC and co-sponsored by Fulbright Association and World Chicago within Fulbright Research Speaker Series to celebrate 75 Years of the Fulbright Program.
As the National Coordinator of Erasmus+ Project DITECH: Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian Higher Education Institutions, Prof. Izabella Petriashvili presented the project achievements and results to the SAC faculty and a broader audience from different countries. The webinar caused a great interest in the audience and was followed by a lively discussion in the Q&A session.

Achievements and Future Plans of the Project DITECH at the National Scientific-Practical Conference
On August 1, 2022, a national scientific-practical conference Dissemination of International Educational Projects and Modern Paradigms of Education was held which was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of Sukhumi State University. One of the three sections of the conference was dedicated to the dissemination of EU and American educational projects. In this section, four reports were presented about the project DITECH:
Developing Digital Skills in the Educational Programs of Georgian Universities Based on the Project DITECH by Izabela Petriashvili and Lia Akhaladze;
The Role of Video in Online Teaching in the Higher Education Environment by Levan Kvaratskhelia;
Piloting Teaching with Digital Technologies in the International Relations Bachelor’s Program by Omar Ardashelia;
Assessment in Distance/Electronic Learning by Lia Akhaladze and Tamar Shinjiashvili.
Online Workshop for DITECH Participating Academic Staff
On July 5-6, 2022, within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + educational project DITECH (Developing and Implementing Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs), an online workshop was held by the universities of Cork (Ireland) and Tallinn (Estonia) specifically for representatives of the academic staff and the National Center for Teacher Professional Development involved in the DITECH project.
On July 5, the online workshop was led by the representative of the University College Cork (University College Cork, Ireland) - Dr. Sarah Thelen, who introduced the participants to the tools and resources necessary for using video in the process of online teaching, as well as the software tools necessary for the design and development of educational/educational videos.
Tallinn study visit results and future plans of the DITECH educational project
On June 8, 2022, the next online workshop of DITECH educational project was held, at which the project members summarized the results of the Trainings of Trainers during the study visit to Tallinn University, and discussed the project development plans and specified their deadlines.
Based on the results and feedback of the trainings of Tallinn University, DITECH training modules were selected and distributed among the project members, and topics were written for the future Trainings of Trainers during the future study visit to Kaunas University.
Professional Development Training of the academic staff of Georgian universities participating in the EU project DITECH
On May 22-28, 2022, within the framework of the EU Erasmus + project DITECH (Developing and Implementing Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs), the first training of trainers was held for the representatives of the academic staff of the Georgian universities participating in the project and the representatives of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development.
DITECH National Coordinators’ Meeting and Current Issues
On April 1, 2022, a meeting of the National Coordinators of the EU Erasmus + project DITECH was held, at which the following issues related to the progress of the project were discussed: the training readers created within the project and the issue of their editing; the issue of dissemination of the DITECH project at the international conference initiated by Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili State University; the issue of dissemination of the DITECH project at the international conference "Information and Software Technologies" initiated by Kaunas University of Technology; study visits to the universities of Tallinn and Kaunas; pilot launch issues in terms of topic integration in separate disciplines.
